Onam Celebration @  DoZE

The DoZE Onam Celebrations were held on the 7th September 2011, Thursday amidst great cheer and the cultural extravaganza witnessed a mass participation as never before in DoZE. The event was attended by all the batches in DoZE and all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the department. The making of “Onapookkalam” with astonishing designs, bringing out the creative talent of DoZE had participation from all students. The celebration extravaganza for DoZE reached its helm when the students started ‘Onakkalikal’ which included ‘Sundharikku Pottu Thodeel’, ‘Bread Biting’, ‘Kalam Thalli Pottikkal’, ‘Musical Chair’, ‘Bottle and Water’ etc. The ‘Tug of War’ (Vadamvali)contest took place among the students and the event was a fine success, as the students fought to the cheer of the audience, and each shout tightening their grips on the rope and making it harder for the other team. It was a pure show of some skill and muscle power. First year BSc boys and Third year BSc girls won the contest. Thanks to Jithin sir. A massive ‘Onasadhya’ was served for the entire department. The staff and students enjoyed the sumptuous Onam feast which was served to them. The Sadhya received much acclaim for the faculty and students. And finally there was a DoZE gathering for prize distribution. It was also a time of gratification. There is a shower of flower petals in the hall. The first year degree students got the Championship trophy. Feeling really happy to see so many smiling beautiful faces all over. It is really soothing. Really we had a memorable day to cherish all the time. Hope the smiles in everyone’s face don’t fade. Wish you all a very HAPPY ONAM.
